Burton & District Model Boat Club provide facilities and support for most types of boat modellers, static, scale, yachting, etc. Our sailing water at Branston is not suitable for straight running, and we try to limit high speed IC boats to a few special events in the year as the water is also a nature reserve.

New event for 2009

It is proposed to run a monthly Laser yacht competition at Branston Water Park on the SECOND SATURDAY IN EACH MONTH. The competition will commence on the 10th January 09 and monthly thereafter. Timing will be - arrive 09.30hrs for 10.30 start. The league will terminate with the November 09 race. The winner overall will be presented with the "BDMBC Laser Cup" trophy which they will keep for twelve months.
Pete Hubbard,  John Meridith and Ian Apps are running this competition, so make a note of the dates and start practicing!

On this site you will find membership details, a copy of our Club Rules and also details of the current Committee. The club meets on the first Wednesday of each month in Woodville Snooker Club. If you want to find out more about us, please come along and introduce yourself.

The sailing waters remain available to members all year but DON'T FORGET from 1st October to 1st April the Water Park closes at 5pm. Our yachting members normally sail on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday mornings. We also have some Lasers in the club. They normally sail on Saturday mornings. Here are pictures of the Laser members and their boats. You will find  reports here on all the monthly Footy Races, and pictures of some of the members and their boats.
